Episode 13 – The Witch (What draws us to horror?)

Episode 13. Unlucky 13. Right in the middle of October, a month of horror films. What did we decide to talk about this week? Robert Eggers The Witch, a Puritan nightmare. How unlucky of us. Starring Anya-Taylor Joy, Ralph Ineson, Kate Dickie, and Harvey Scrimshaw, The Witch tells the story of a family ripped apart when they’re confronted with a witch and their own sins. We also spend some time discussing what draws us to horror. Why do people continue to watch these films that fill us with dread? In the process, we break down the various sub-genres of horror, and Josh does his best Black Phillip impersonation. You won’t want to miss it!
